David Beckham and Kevin Hart team up for fresh H&M campaign

Soccer star David Beckham has joined forces again with American actor and comedian Kevin Hart, in a new campaign for Swedish fashion retailer H&M. The full commercial, which is set to go live on hm.com September 26, is set on a road trip which sees both Beckham and Hart sporting identical looks from the autumn/winter 16 collection of the new “Modern Essentials line, selected by David Beckham” — which lands in stores and online from September 29. The campaign story, once again directed by Fredrik Bond, picks up where the duo left off in their first commercial together, where Hart prepared to play the role of Beckham in a biopic film, and sees the two traveling from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, supposedly to meet financiers for a new Vegas musical.

New York Fashion Week ends on a colorful high

New York Fashion Week wrapped up on Wednesday with an all-American finale from brands including Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors. Ralph Lauren, who hit the headlines earlier this week when it was revealed the house would join the growing coterie of brands adopting the 'see-now-buy-now' retail concept, took the Wild West as his main inspiration for Spring/Summer 2017. Michael Kors is another brand transitioning to see-now-buy-now, but the designer doesn't seem to be losing sleep over it, judging by the joyful aesthetic of his colorful collection.

Anthony Vaccarello named creative director of Yves Saint Laurent

Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello took over Monday as creative director of Yves Saint Laurent, three days after the departure of the hugely influential Hedi Slimane. After Slimane's rock star chic, Vaccarello will bring a sexy, leggy look which he has developed since he first came to fame with a collection inspired by the Hungarian-Italian porn actress turned politician la Cicciolina. Vaccarello's “modern, pure aesthetic is the perfect fit,” YSL's CEO Francesca Bellettini said.

Versace says designer Vaccarello to leave company

Italian fashion house Versace said on Monday that Anthony Vaccarello would step down as creative director of its Versus Versace brand, in a move seen as a prelude for the Belgian designer to join Yves Saint Laurent. The French brand, which belongs to luxury group Kering, announced last week that its creative director Hedi Slimane was leaving and a source told Reuters he would be replaced by Vaccarello. Vaccarello, who is a fan of asymmetric designs, was seen as a potential replacement for Slimane as he will be able to provide more of the rock chic designs that Slimane introduced and which have proved popular for the Yves Saint Laurent brand.
