Michael Cinco to present A/W ’16 Couture Collection at Paris Haute Couture Week

Renowned Philippine and Dubai-based couturier, Michael Cinco, has announced that he will present at Paris Haute Couture Week later this year. Cinco will present his Autumn / Winter 2016 Couture Collection in partnership with the Asian Couture Federation and as part of a special collaboration with COUTURíSSIMO, the latest initiative from the Asian Couture Federation which aims to provide consumers with access to affordable couture-inspired pieces designed by leading couturiers. Michael Cinco will design a special collection for COUTURíSSIMO which will be presented on the runway immediately following his Autumn / Winter 2016 Couture Collection on July 3, 2016.

Viktor&Rolf to star in Melbourne fashion exhibition

Fashion house Viktor&Rolf will be in the spotlight this fall, thanks to a new collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, the avant-garde design duo behind the Dutch label, will dig deep into their archives from the past 20 years for “Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists,” opening in October. The exhibition will explore the famous pair's notion of wearable art, which blends a rebellious approach to fashion with a technical prowess that sets them apart in the industry.

From Bowie-mania to enchanted fairytales: Maison Margiela, Franck Sorbier and Elie Saab shine on the couture runways

If there's one thing Maison Margiela specializes in, it's putting on a show, and the couture house didn't disappoint in Paris Wednesday. Under the guidance of star designer John Galliano, the Spring 2016 collection was a riot of influences, each bolder and brighter than the last. The makeup, which included lipstick prints all over the face and neck and zig-zagged eye patches, seemed to be an homage to the late David Bowie, who would almost certainly have approved of the glittering gold boots and metallic trousers on show, and indeed the entire collection channeled the zany creativity that both the musician and Galliano have in common.

Nicki Minaj’s latest fashion collection unveiled at Kmart

Nicki Minaj got busy over the Thanksgiving weekend by launching her winter capsule clothing collection at Kmart. According to Kmart, the collection is designed to make all women “feel confident in their curves.” Prices range from $12.99 to $24.99, and the pieces are available from select Kmart stores, on kmart.com and on ShopYourWay.com. The predominantly all-black collection also includes a shearling fur vest and a neoprene bodysuit.
