Australian Fashion Foundation names hot new talent in annual awards ceremony

The Australian Fashion Foundation (AUSFF) has revealed the winners of its 2016/2017 annual internship program. Womenswear designer Deanna Fanning and menswear designer Hannah Tan took home the top prize, receiving a financial grant and internship opportunities worth more than AU$20,000 (approximately US$14,500). The up-and-coming duo will be able to complete their internships in the US or Europe, stopping in Hong Kong on the way to meet with industry experts at textile brand The Woolmark Company's new Wool Resource Centre to learn about the industry and the key manufacturers, spinners and weavers in China.

Women take center stage in Dior spring/summer 2017 campaign

French fashion house Dior has unveiled the advertising campaign for its spring/summer 2017 collection, the first ready-to-wear line overseen by new creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. In the spirit of the catwalk show, which previewed the collection in September, the Italian designer's feminist values play a key role in the project, designed by, with and for women. The eagerly awaited Dior spring/summer 2017 show caused a sensation back in September, when the fashion world discovered the label's first collection from Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first female creative director in the history of the French fashion house.
