Taylor Hill is the new face of Topshop for Fall 2016

Model of the moment Taylor Hill has been unveiled as the face of high street giant Topshop's Autumn/Winter 2016 campaign. The US model was shot by photographer Giampaolo Sgura for the grungy campaign, set in New York. Styled by Topshop Creative Director Kate Phelan, Hill can be seen reclining in front of the city's skyline in a semi-sheer polka dot dress and studded, embroidered leather jacket from the brand's fall collection.

‘Manus x Machina’ exhibition at NY’s Met extended

Due to popular demand, the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is staying open until September 5. Since opening its doors to the public on May 5, the show, which examines the impact of technology on haute couture and avant-garde ready to wear — an industry of artisans, craft and individuality — and how digital and analogue approaches will play equal roles in the future creative process, has already welcomed over 350,000 visitors. “We want to give as many people as possible the chance to experience this exhibition,” said Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Met.

Late rock star David Bowie honored at NY fashion awards ceremony

Fashion designers paid tribute to David Bowie, the late British rock star and style icon who died of cancer earlier this year, at an awards ceremony recognizing people whose influence impacted the industry. Actress Tilda Swinton accepted the Board of Director’s Tribute Award on behalf of Bowie’s widow, Iman, at the 2016 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards on Monday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. Michael C. Hall, one of the stars of “Lazarus,” the musical Bowie had worked before his death in January at the age of 69, also performed.

Gucci votes ‘remain’: Italian house celebrates UK with anglo-themed cruise collection

Both Christian Dior and Gucci chose English locations for their resort 2017 shows this week — with the later taking over London's Westminster Abbey on Thursday evening in a historical fashion first. Creative Director Alessandro Michele went all-out ‘rule Britannia' on the collection, which ticked all the nationalistic style boxes, sweeping from dreamy printed floral silks to tartan kilts and Union Jack bomber jackets. Michele was thorough in his sartorial homage to the nation — the collection drew inspiration from the country's punk era as much as it did its Gothic Victorian heritage, its penchant for clompy Nineties boots and elegant garden party dresses — “When I think about London I think about gardens, beautiful gardens filled with flowers,” he says.

Charlotte Olympia and Agent Provocateur announce new collaboration

Shoe designer Charlotte Olympia is teaming up with Agent Provocateur on a racy new lingerie collection. The design brains behind the luxury footwear brand, Charlotte Dellal, will work on three lingerie sets and accompanying shoe designs for the lingerie house, Vogue UK reports. The two fashion powers previously joined forces in 2012, when Dellal designed two pairs of shoes for Agent Provocateur.
