Having been somewhat typecast as a 'curvy' blonde (by supermodel standards at least), Gigi sent shockwaves rippling through the fashion world when she stepped out onto the Balmain Fall/Winter 2016 catwalk as a brunette for Paris Fashion Week. Starring in Tommy Hilfiger's fragrance campaign 'The Girl' in July, Gigi showed off her playful side, as well as offering a glimpse of the nautical theme that would run through her debut fashion collection, TommyxGigi, launched with the designer in September.

The Fashion Awards names the big winners of 2016 in London

Alessandro Michele, Gigi Hadid and Alexander McQueen were just some of the names to claim top prizes at the Fashion Awards 2016 on Monday evening. Stars and key players gathered at London's Albert Hall to toast the winners of the prestigious awards ceremony, hosted by the British Fashion Council, with a focus on both emerging talent and industry legends. Alessandro Michele, credited with breathing new life into Gucci since his tenure at the brand, was awarded the title of 'International Accessories Designer', while the enigmatic Paris-based collective Vetements, which has been shaking up the fashion scene since its edgy debut in 2014, was named 'International Urban Luxury Brand.' One of its founding designers Demna Gvasalia also won the 'International Ready-to-Wear Designer' category for his work at Balenciaga.

Bruce Weber to be honored at The Fashion Awards 2016

Bruce Weber is set to receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards 2016, it has been announced. The British Fashion Council will award the US photographer and cinematographer the honor for his “erotic and risqué but always uniquely stylish portraits,” according to a press release. “Bruce's endurance is testament to his pure talent, his undeniable creativity and his singular warmth and generosity,” said British Fashion Council Chairman Dame Natalie Massenet.

PARIS (AP) — French luxury giant LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton is selling its Donna Karan and DKNY clothing brands to U.S. group G-III Apparel in a $650 million deal.

British Fashion Council debuts revamped global fashion event to rival Met Ball

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has joined forces with luxury jewelry label Swarovski to re-imagine the British Fashion Awards, newly dubbed The Fashion Awards 2016. The Fashion Awards 2016, to take place on December 5 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, will herald a new global focus, with awards aiming to honor international talent from both the creative and business sides of the industry. The annual awards event will also aim to attract a bigger, public audience with the venue at the Royal Albert Hall able to host just over 3,000 attendees, with half of these seats to be available for purchase by the general public, starting Tuesday, May 3.
