United Colors of Benetton has revealed more about its first collaboration with a fashion designer, signing up Stella Jean to create a knitwear-focused winter capsule collection. In the space of just a few years, Stella Jean, who lives and works in Rome, Italy, has become a key figure in the fashion world. A former protégé of Giorgio Armani, the designer skillfully combines Italian style and expertise with African and Caribbean inspirations, with particular focus on Haitian culture.

By Marie-Louise Gumuchian and Jane Witherspoon LONDON (Reuters) – Fashion designer Stella McCartney drew inspiration from her Beatle father Paul when creating her first menswear collection, unveiling both relaxed and tailored looks for the male wardrobe. “It just felt like the right time, it felt like the womenswear was really in the perfect place to then have her man in her life and just to offer that wardrobe to men,” McCartney told Reuters. Asked if her famous father would wear the new line, McCartney said: “Yeah definitely, there’s a lot of inspiration obviously in him in the collection, so … he better be wearing it.” For outerwear, there was a mix of big-pocketed jackets, trenchcoats, raincoats and bomber jackets.

Fashion brands are stepping up their presence on social media to woo young consumers – the buyers of tomorrow – who spend more time online than with traditional media such as glossy magazines and TV.

Signature looks evolve at Stella McCartney’s Paris show

By Johnny Cotton PARIS (Reuters) – British designer Stella McCartney offered a new take on her brand's signature looks at Paris Fashion Week on Monday, presenting a selection of puffa jackets and pleated dresses for women's winter wardrobes. Showing at Palais Garnier, the designer, known for mixing luxury and sporty, unveiled plenty of snug-looking creations in front an audience that included her father Paul McCartney, who described the collection as “very young…witty”. Quilted puffa jackets came in an array of styles – belted, short and as gilets.

Music, celebrities and fashion came together in Los Angeles on Tuesday as British designer Stella McCartney presented her autumn 2016 collection amid the Hollywood awards season buzz. Models danced between rows of records and CDs at Hollywood's landmark Amoeba Music store, dressed in “fur-free fur” or embroidered coats and jackets adorned in cat motifs and leopard and tiger prints. Known for her neutral color palettes, McCartney's pre-fall line came in cream and earthy tones with dabs of indigo, orange and pink.

Hollywood’s finest turn out for Stella McCartney extravaganza

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow in a pair of eye-catching blue bootsies and pop star Katy Perry headlined the A-listers who turned out for the presentation of Stella McCartney's Fall 2016 collection Tuesday in the heart of Hollywood. The fashion designer turned the record store Amoeba Music into a gigantic nightclub, where the sounds of David Bowie rang out in tribute to the late great and some of the biggest names in Tinseltown rubbed shoulders among aisles of CDs. Actresses Kate Hudson and Melanie Griffith, and British singer-songwriter Kelly Osbourne, were also in attendance, as was Kiernan Shipka, of “Mad Men” fame.
