Fabric trends for spring/summer 2017: lamé, tulle, nylon and more

Classic staples like cotton, linen, wool, denim, knits, silk and synthetic materials will evidently be on the agenda this spring. At the last round of catwalk shows, held fall 2016, designers showcased creations made with more unusual materials or with seasonal updates of fabrics more often associated with winter. Fans of lightweight fabrics like tulle can channel either romantic or mysterious vibes for SS17, rocking tulle with or without added lace.

New York Fashion Week: spring/summer 2017 show schedule

After menswear in June and haute couture in July, the fashion world is gearing up for the next round of women's ready-to-wear shows in September. The upcoming Fashion Month kicks off in New York on September 8, previewing spring/summer 2017 collections and showing the first signs of major changes currently shaking up the industry, with mixed collections on the agenda and designs heading straight from the runway to stores.

London Collections Men: Belstaff goes full throttle with spring/summer 2017 menswear

The British brand presented a carefree spring/summer 2017 collection on the London catwalk, Sunday, June 12, drawing inspiration from a Steve McQueen movie. Leather was firmly on the agenda, as well as suede, denim and patterns inspired by motorcycle racing. The latest Belstaff collection is inspired by the Bruce Brown movie, “On Any Sunday,” starring Steve McQueen and released in 1971.
