Categories for the Fashion Awards 2016 revealed

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has revealed the award categories for the Fashion Awards 2016, as voting goes live for the prestigious ceremony. The awards will be divided into British and International sections, with the first comprising British Menswear Designer of the Year, British Womenswear Designer of the Year, British Brand, and Emerging Talent Award. Awards open to both UK and international talent include Model of the Year, Ready-to-Wear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year, Urban Luxury, Fashion Icon, Creative Influencer, and Business Leader.

The eagerly awaited “TommyXGigi” capsule collection is now online to see at www.tommy.com. The fruit of a collaboration between the American fashion label and the star model, the collection has a sailor-chic vibe, with a multitude of details that nod to a life on the waves. This first sportswear chic collaboration is due to go on sale from September 1.

First female master tailor cuts through on London’s Savile Row

Kathryn Sargent made history on Wednesday by becoming the first female master tailor to open her own premises on London's Savile Row — the epicentre of traditional British bespoke tailoring. Sargent, who worked her way up the ranks during 15 years on the prestigious street at Gieves and Hawkes, opened her first tailoring house around the corner in 2012, before seizing the opportunity to move back onto Savile Row in her own right. Having become well-known for her skills in the close-knit Savile Row community, she was offered the chance to open her own premises.
