Tom Ford, Kanye West usher in NY Fashion Week

Filmmaker-designer Tom Ford and rap superstar Kanye West fired the start gun on New York Fashion Week Wednesday, unveiling intimate A-list shows that proffered starkly different visions of women's attire. For Ford, who premiered his second movie “Nocturnal Animals” at the Venice film festival only last week, it was a triumphant return to New York after showing more recently in London and Los Angeles.

Kanye West takes ‘Pablo’ pop-up fashion stores global

Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West is going global, opening pop-up stores in 21 venues this weekend to sell his “Life of Pablo” merchandise. West, 39, announced the move on Twitter on Wednesday with a map of the stores that will be located in cities in the United States, Australia, England, Germany, South Africa and Singapore. West, currently on a U.S. tour promoting his “The Life of Pablo” album, has become a sought-after fashion designer, launching his latest collection of casual wear at New York's Madison Square Garden in February.

New York Fashion Week is almost at an end and it is time to take stock of some of the strongest trends offered up by the designers at the Autumn/Winter 2016 ready-to-wear shows. Yeezy Season 3 featured floor-length mink coats that broke up the athleisure-inspired uniform, while Carolina Herrera teamed delicate-looking fox furs with layered silk and chiffon skirts for a lighter-than-air look. Michael Kors kept things cozy with oversized mink jackets, and fox-fur collars upped the glamour factor at Prabal Gurung.

Kanye West asks Facebook’s Zuckerberg for $1 billion for his ‘ideas’

(Reuters) – Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West, who says he is $53 million in debt, has asked Facebook Inc's Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion into his “ideas.” West asked his Twitter followers to urge Zuckerberg to support him. “World, please tweet, FaceTime, Facebook, instagram, whatever you gotta do to get Mark to support me … West tweeted. West, who claimed he was “still 53 million dollars in personal debt,” said that people do not give money to “real artists” like him but rather open schools in Africa.

By Piya Sinha-Roy LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – More than 20 million viewers watched rapper and fashion designer Kanye West put his own twist on a New York Fashion Week runway show on Thursday as he debuted a new album and clothing collection at famed music venue Madison Square Garden. West, his reality star wife Kim Kardashian and her family, including former NBA basketball player Lamar Odom, entered the Manhattan venue to cheers from the audience. It is the first time Odom, the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, has been seen in public since he fell into a coma after using cocaine at a brothel last October and was hospitalized.
