London Collections Men: fall/winter 2017 show schedule

The British capital will be kicking off the latest round of menswear shows, January 6, 2017. Over the course of four days, labels such as J.W.Anderson, Alex Mullins and Sibling will present their fall/winter 2017-2018 men's ready-to-wear collections. Topman Design is scheduled to launch the London event, while John Smedley will close with a show presenting menswear and womenswear, due on sale straight after the show.

NY Fashion Week adapts to changing designer needs, business models

About 100 designers will showcase their collections at the fashion fest that begins on Thursday. Another theme will be athletic-inspired fashion and street-style looks, popularized by singers Kanye West, Beyonce and Rihanna, whose Fenty Puma collection will be available in pop-up shops and stores this week. “A lot of people are going into this realm and I think it is what people are actually buying too,” said William Kahn, fashion market and accessories director at Hearst Magazines, Town & Country.

Fashion update: the retailers getting on board with wearable tech

As technology advances inexorably, the domination of wearables seems increasingly inevitable. With tech brands such as Fitbit and Jawbone straining to streamline and polish their products in order to reposition themselves as stylish accessories, several retail brands are also embracing the strategy of incorporating connected items into their collections. This week British clothing giant Topshop unveiled the winner of its 'Top Pitch' competition, a wearable tech bootcamp program aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs and gaining exposure for them in the fashion industry.

Couture jewelry from Chanel, Dior and Balenciaga to go under the hammer in Paris

As part of its Haute Couture auction, Artcurial's new Hermès Vintage & Fashion Arts department will be selling two private collections in Paris on July 4. The sale will include a collection of haute couture jewelry — pieces created at the request of designers to accessorize their collections — and items from the catwalk collections of Elisabeth de Senneville, an influential fashion designer of the 1980s. The upcoming auction, which will be held in Paris, France, will see collectors and couture fashion fans bid for around a hundred pieces of jewelry from some of the biggest fashion houses, such as Chanel and Dior, as well as 130 items from the professional archives of Elisabeth de Senneville.

LVMH reveals finalists in fashion’s fiercest competiton

Following a presentation of their collections on March 2-3, the 23 shortlisted up-and-coming talents have been whittled down to just eight contenders for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers Prize have been revealed. New York designer Brandon Maxwell's eponymous label has also made the cut, alongside “Koché”, by French designer Christelle Kocher, “Vejas,” by Canadian Vejas Kruszewski and “Wales Bonner,” by English talent Grace Wales Bonner.
