Something new: designer wedding collections go budget

The new H&M Conscious Exclusive collection debuting this month includes an array of whimsical wedding dresses made from sustainable materials. With a launch that coincided with the opening of the Parisian exhibition “Fashion Forward – 300 Years of Fashion,” the H&M Conscious Exclusive aims to create haute couture aesthetics with sustainable fabrics such as organic silk, hemp and recycled linen. Comprising lace gowns, prom dresses and sharp, modern coordinated separates, the fashion-forward collection's reasonable pricing means that brides-to-be can pick out a dress from $204.

H&M builds on history with new Conscious Collection

April 2016's Conscious Exclusive Collection from H&M aims to honor both sustainable clothing practices as well as a new exhibition at Paris's Museum of Decorative Arts. “Fashion Forward – 300 Years of Fashion” will open on April 7 at the French capital's Muséé des Arts Decoratifs, the same day that H&M's 2016 Conscious Exclusive Collection will be available both in stores and online. The line draws on three centuries to combine sustainable materials with haute couture style, the retailer says.
