Out of fashion: how men could fall off the catwalk

Menswear shows, traditionally held months before the women hit the runways later in the year, are being slowly airbrushed from the fashion industry's calendar and folded into the women's events, almost as an accessory. In Milan, where male models are strutting their stuff in shows that began on Friday for men's fashion week, 10 designers have decided not to showcase their collections this year including Calvin Klein, Ermenegildo Zegna and Kering's Brioni and Bottega Veneta. Other brands, including Burberry, Gucci and Tom Ford, have announced in recent months that they plan to stage combined events in future.

Zegna confirms Pilati’s departure

Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna has issued a notice confirming that its design lead, Stefano Pilati, is stepping down. In a statement to the press, Zegna Group's CEO Gildo Zegna thanked Stefano for his contributions and wished him well in future endeavors. Pilati, formerly Creative Director at Yves Saint Laurent, joined the luxury menswear label in January 2013, assuming responsibility for both its ready-to-wear and couture collections.

Fashion designer Stefano Pilati is rumored to be leaving his position as head of design at the Ermenegildo Zegna Group to fill the vacant spot at the French house of Lanvin.
