The New York-based designer has said she wantsto to connect with her clients in Los Angeles, and the local and international fashion communities. Comey follows fellow designers Rachel Zoe, Rebecca Minkoff, and Tommy Hilfiger in heading to LA, with Tom Ford also rumoured to be showing his next collection in the city, possibly around Oscar weekend.

The US designer is shunning New York Fashion Week for Venice Beach, Los Angeles, where he will host 'TommyNow Spring 17' on February 8, he has confirmed. The show will feature both his 'Hilfiger Collection' and the second instalment of the 'TommyXGigi' collaborative capsule created with supermodel Gigi.

The label has launched a social media initiative captioned “Tommy x Gigi x You,” inviting Instagram and Twitter users to vote on their favorite pieces from the upcoming Spring/Summer 2017 collection. According to WWD, the pieces with the most votes will be selected to appear in a February 2017 fashion show, before going on sale immediately afterwards.

French brand Sonia Rykiel has announced plans to close its Sonia by Sonia Rykiel diffusion line in a move aimed at repositioning its flagship brand. Sonia by Sonia Rykiel has four standalone stores and four corners in department stores, most of which will be shuttered by the end of 2017, reports WWD. The restructuring will also introduce lower price points on the main Sonia Rykiel line to make the brand more competitive.

Fashion designer Paul Smith is set to launch his new PS by Paul Smith collection at the upcoming menswear event Pitti Immagine Uomo 91.
