Emirati model breaks taboos to follow catwalk dream

In a flowing scarlet dress, Rafeea al-Hajsi fulfilled a dream by becoming the first Emirati model to strut the Arab Fashion Week catwalk after years battling social constraints. As she prepared to model two dresses by Lebanese designer Aiisha Ramadan on Sunday, the model said excitement, fear and happiness all come together when she faces the audience.

Elie Saab draws on Japanese culture for Resort 2017 collection

The famous Lebanese fashion designer's signature label has unveiled its Resort 2017 collection, drawing inspiration from Japanese culture and its various contrasts. The result is a diverse mix of references ranging from the classic kimono to young kawaii kitsch to the country's emblematic cherry blossom. As well as channeling strong Japanese influences, the Elie Saab Resort 2017 collection has a highly feminine undercurrent, showing bare shoulders, cinched waists and semi-split skirts.

Elie Saab Bridal Is Unveiled (And, Duh, It’s Beautiful)

The Lebanese fashion designer, who is famous for his red carpet-worthy haute couture and ready-to-wear creations, has revealed a line-up of 25 daring and feminine gowns and trouser suits for brides to be. Bridal gowns are not the only new project underway at the house at the moment – an eyewear collection is also set to launch in January 2017.
