The French fashion house headed to Havana to present its Cruise 2016-2017 collection, Tuesday, May 3, in the brand's first ever Latin American catwalk show. To celebrate the event, Karl Lagerfeld crafted a collection bursting with life, with color and with sparkle, and jam-packed with references to the Caribbean island and the new chapter in its history. It was on the Cuban capital's El Paseo del Prado — a wide boulevard lined with trees and multicolored facades — that the French luxury brand unveiled its new collection, mixing the signature chic of Chanel with vibrant Cuban folklore inspirations.

British Fashion Council announces shortlist for Designer Menswear Fund

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has revealed the designers shortlisted for its BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund. The prestigious award will see the winner receive a £150,000 grant (about US$217,000) to grow their label, as well as £50,000 value (about US$72,000) in kind services and 12 months of mentoring from industry experts. Urban label Sibling, which hit the headlines earlier this year with a River Island collaboration, is one of the shortlisted British brands, alongside designer Christopher Raeburn, who is famous for his work repurposing military fabrics.
