After London, it will be Milan's turn to showcase men's ready-to-wear collections for the fall/winter 2017-2018 season, with major changes on the agenda. Already underway for the past two seasons, revolution continues to grip the fashion world, with several labels showing menswear and womenswear on the same runway and putting collections on sale straight after shows.

Met Gala 2017 Theme Is Revealed

New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art announced on Friday that the theme for its 2017 Costume Institute exhibition and gala will be “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons,” reports Vogue. The upcoming show will be the first to make a living designer the sole subject of the Met's famous fashion exhibit since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983. “Rei Kawakubo is one of the most important and influential designers of the past forty years,” said the Costume Institute's curator in charge, Andrew Bolton.

Players go back in time for World Hickory Golf Open

(Reuters) – Wearing early 20th century-inspired attire and donning wooden shafted clubs, golf fans went back in time this week for the World Hickory Open Championship. The event, which took place at Panmure Golf Course in Scotland, celebrates the game’s heritage and how it used to be played. “Traditions are very important in the game of golf and you’ve got to keep up with what happened in the past,” player David Edwards said.

Designer Brandon Maxwell feels the love for Spring/Summer 2017

Fashion designer Brandon Maxwell kicked off his Spring/Summer 2017 collection at New York’s Russian Tea Room restaurant on Tuesday, with his “best friend” Lady Gaga sitting in the front row. Reflecting on the past year, the designer and stylist said his family and friends were at the core of his latest collection. It’s also been a little scary,” Maxwell told Reuters about the past year.

The trio are the latest models to be unveiled by the fashion designer, who has been drip-feeding glimpses of the campaign on social media over the past few weeks. The series of portraits features a cast including rapper Missy Elliott, musician St Vincent and actress Sissy Spacek, all of whom were captured by photographer David Sims.

Olivier Rousteing launches collaboration with NikeLab

Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing celebrated his recent collaboration with NikeLab at a launch party held in Paris, France, WWD reports. The collection, “Football Nouveau” went on sale Thursday, June 2, and is the second NikeLab's Summer of Sport series. Racking up the air miles over the past few days, Rousteing has also unveiled an exhibition in Shanghai, China, called “The Circle,” held at Nike's flagship store.

H&M scores success with designer collaborations

This past week the Scandinavian clothing chain revealed the latest fashion house lined up to design a collection for its customers. Hot on the heels of Balmain, Kenzo — headed by creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon — will be the next label to design a selection of womenswear, menswear and accessories for the store, on sale from November 3. This is the latest in a long line of blockbusting partnerships that have helped the Swedish clothing giant build a sound reputation in the ready-to-wear and couture fashion sectors.

Named after Wu's favorite color, the more affordable sister label has been in the works for the past 12 months and is set to launch in June. The news was announced with a photo of the label's grey clothing tags alongside the caption, “Introducing #GreyJasonWu, a new sister label I've created that has been under wraps for the last 12 months.
