Kate Middleton appears on cover of Vogue’s 100th anniversary edition

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, will appear on the cover of the 100th anniversary edition of the British version of fashion magazine Vogue, following in the path of her husband's late mother, Princess Diana. Late on Saturday Vogue revealed the cover of its June edition on its website, which goes on sale on Thursday, showing a smiling Kate in a rural outdoors setting wearing a green hat, brown jacket and white blouse. “I am hugely grateful that we have been able to continue with our tradition of outstanding royal portraiture,” Vogue editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman said.

British Vogue fetes 100 years with photo exhibition

From Second World War photographs to shoots with famous models, British Vogue magazine marks its 100th birthday this year with an exhibition of fashion, beauty and portrait prints. Opening at London’s National Portrait Gallery on Thursday, “Vogue 100: A Century of Style” features more than 280 photographs from publisher Conde Nast’s archives that the magazine has commissioned over the decades. It includes the work of renowned photographers such as Cecil Beaton, Irwing Penn, David Bailey and Mario Testino, portraits of celebrities including Marlene Dietrich, Britain’s Princess Diana and David Beckham and shoots with famous models such as Kate Moss and Linda Evangelista.

Marc Jacobs Beauty names lipstick after Princess Charlotte

Marc Jacobs Beauty have taken inspiration from royalty for their new beauty launch, naming its new lipstick after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 9-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte, reports WWD. The new “Charlotte” lipstick, which has been “inspired by the deepest saturated pink tones of an English rose,” is part of the Le Marc lip crème collection. Princess Charlotte will celebrate her first birthday on May 2.

Chanel has a spring in its step as Lagerfeld unveils breezy couture collection

Stepping lightly down the grassy runway, Karl Lagerfeld's doll-like models were a picture of dewy and youthful elegance, from their Princess Leia-like hairstyles to the glossy black tips of their monochrome pumps. This being Chanel, the show started with the tweed suits —  chic two-pieces comprising elongated midi skirts cut close to the body and cropped double-breasted jackets with puffed sleeves for contrast. There were dress coats and trouser suits, all woven from a tasteful palette of creams, golds, peaches and dusky greys, with brooches scattered around for embellishment.
