Johanna Ho collaborates on Puma capsule collection

Hong Kong-based designer Johanna Ho is the latest designer to add her personal touch to Puma, reports Women's Wear Daily, as she creates a 26-piece capsule collection for the brand. The designer used a selection of vintage Puma tracksuits to create the collection, which includes t-shirts, tracksuits and footwear. Items will retail for 2,300 Macau Pataca ($282) to 12,000 Macau Pataca ($1,472), and will be available exclusively at T Galleria by DFS's City of Dreams store in Macau.

French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel dies aged 86

By Astrid Wendlandt PARIS (Reuters) – French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel, known for her brightly colored striped sweater dresses, has died at the age of 86, the owner of the fashion label she founded said on Thursday. “It is a sad day but Sonia Rykiel leaves behind her an extraordinary legacy,” Jean-Marc Loubier, chairman and chief executive of First Heritage Brands, the parent company of the Sonia Rykiel label, told Reuters. “She was a pioneer who helped women and society evolve.” Rykiel founded her fashion house in 1968, when France was rocked by violent student riots, with the aim of creating a counter-culture to stiff, bourgeois dress codes with inside-out stitches and extra-short skirts.

‘Queen of Knitwear’ Sonia Rykiel dead at 86: family

French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel, the so-called Queen of Knitwear, died on Thursday at the age of 86 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, her daughter told AFP. “My mother died at 5:00 this morning at her home in Paris from the effects of Parkinson's,” Nathalie Rykiel said. The pioneering Rykiel was a fixture in the industry for half a century, launching her own fashion house in 1968 buoyed by the Swinging Sixties craze in London.
