Goose bumps and bruises as Victoria’s Secret models take to Paris catwalk

It took a fair bit of cheek — and not a little phlegm on a freezing Paris night — for the brash US lingerie brand Victoria's Secret to hold its first-ever fashion show in the city that invented sexy underwear. Lady Gaga — the star draw for the annual extragavanza famous for bringing kitschy Las Vegas glamour to the catwalk — picked up a “couple of bruises from (the) dance rehearsal”, she told her 64 million Twitter followers. The show's mostly American models said they felt “goose bumps” — and not just because of the sub-freezing temperatures.

Bottega Veneta to combine men’s and womenswear shows

Luxury design house Bottega Veneta has announced that going forward it will combine its menswear and womenswear ready-to-wear shows reports British Vogue. The change is set to take place in February at the brand's Milan Fashion Week autumn/winter 2017 womenswear show. The news comes after many other design houses have decided to shake up their schedules, with DSquared2 and Burberry also now opting for co-ed collections combining both menswear and womenswear.

Kaupthing to put UK’s Oasis and Warehouse up for sale – sources

By Dasha Afanasieva and Pamela Barbaglia LONDON (Reuters) – Administrators for failed Icelandic bank Kaupthing are looking to sell off British high street retailers including Coast, Oasis and Warehouse which employ thousands of people, four sources familiar with the matter said. The bank was nationalised during Iceland's 2008-2011 financial crisis, with its domestic operations spun into a new bank known as Arion Banki, while all non-Icelandic assets remained with the now defunct Kaupthing. Kaupthing acquired the brands in 2009 from Mosaic Fashions, which went into administration after shareholder Baugur collapsed in the wake of the crisis.

British photographer David Hamilton dies in Paris -police source

British art photographer David Hamilton died in Paris on Friday at the age of 83 after committing suicide, a police source told Reuters. Hamilton, who was born in London but had lived much of his life in France, was found unresponsive in his Paris apartment by a neighbor who alerted emergency services, French radio station Europe 1 reported. Hamilton, whose work appeared in high-end fashion magazines, was known for his images of nude or underclothed young models which drew some controversy.

Tokyo holds its first fashion show for Muslim women

TOKYO (Reuters) – Models wearing an array of colorful hijabs walked down a Tokyo catwalk on Tuesday in what organizers said was the first such fashion show for Muslim women in Japan. Floral patterns were among the designs adorning long robe garments and matching headscarves at Japan's first “Muslimah Fashion Show”, which is taking place as part of a two-day Halal Expo Japan event. Hugo Boss, Vera Wang to skip NY Fashion Week

Hugo Boss and Vera Wang are skipping Fashion Week in New York next February in a sign of the upheaval rippling through the industry. In a presentation to investors, the Hugo Boss group explained it wants to concentrate more on its men's ready-to-wear clothes. The fashion house will take part in late January in the menswear fashion show that precedes Fashion Week for women's wear.
