British Vogue celebrates 100 years in 2016 and is continuing its festivities with a newly launched video to look back at its 100 years of making fashion history. The video offers a brief history lesson into the iconic fashion magazine, currently helmed by Editor-in-Chief Alexandra Shulman, looking at everything from movie star makeup in the 1930s to the supermodels of the 1990s. Vogue recently released its Vogue 100 issue, starring the Duchess of Cambridge, and has celebrated its centenary year with a Gala dinner and birthday party, plus lots of fashion at the Vogue Festival and exclusive shop windows around the UK.

British Fashion Council announces shortlist for Designer Menswear Fund

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has revealed the designers shortlisted for its BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund. The prestigious award will see the winner receive a £150,000 grant (about US$217,000) to grow their label, as well as £50,000 value (about US$72,000) in kind services and 12 months of mentoring from industry experts. Urban label Sibling, which hit the headlines earlier this year with a River Island collaboration, is one of the shortlisted British brands, alongside designer Christopher Raeburn, who is famous for his work repurposing military fabrics.

UK royal Kate appears on cover of Vogue’s 100th anniversary edition

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, will appear on the cover of the 100th anniversary edition of the British version of fashion magazine Vogue, following in the path of her husband's late mother, Princess Diana. Late on Saturday Vogue revealed the cover of its June edition on its website, which goes on sale on Thursday, showing a smiling Kate in a rural outdoors setting wearing a green hat, brown jacket and white blouse. “I am hugely grateful that we have been able to continue with our tradition of outstanding royal portraiture,” Vogue editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman said.

British Fashion Council debuts revamped global fashion event to rival Met Ball

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has joined forces with luxury jewelry label Swarovski to re-imagine the British Fashion Awards, newly dubbed The Fashion Awards 2016. The Fashion Awards 2016, to take place on December 5 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, will herald a new global focus, with awards aiming to honor international talent from both the creative and business sides of the industry. The annual awards event will also aim to attract a bigger, public audience with the venue at the Royal Albert Hall able to host just over 3,000 attendees, with half of these seats to be available for purchase by the general public, starting Tuesday, May 3.

Beyonce jumps into athleisure market with Ivy Park clothing line

Recording star Beyonce launched a women's fitness clothing line on Thursday featuring bodysuits, leggings and headbands, named in part for her 4-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. Called Ivy Park, the 200-piece active wear collection is a joint venture with British businessman Sir Philip Green, who owns the Topshop fashion chain. It will go on sale at selected Topshop and high-end department stores around the world on April 14.

Jane Birkin has made a surprise modeling debut for Saint Laurent. The French fashion house has unveiled the British actress and singer, 69, as the latest addition to its 'Music Project'. Signature looks evolve at Stella McCartney’s Paris show

By Johnny Cotton PARIS (Reuters) – British designer Stella McCartney offered a new take on her brand's signature looks at Paris Fashion Week on Monday, presenting a selection of puffa jackets and pleated dresses for women's winter wardrobes. Showing at Palais Garnier, the designer, known for mixing luxury and sporty, unveiled plenty of snug-looking creations in front an audience that included her father Paul McCartney, who described the collection as “very young…witty”. Quilted puffa jackets came in an array of styles – belted, short and as gilets.
