2 museums dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent set to open in 2017

Two museums entirely devoted to French designer Yves Saint Laurent's life and work will open in 2017. The Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent, which works to preserve the legacy of the designer, contains a collection of 5,000 haute couture garments and 15,000 accessories. It also has thousands of sketches, photographs and various objects that Yves Saint Laurent archived since the creation of his fashion house in 1961, which will be featured at the museums.

Jimmy Choo has come a long way over the trajectory of his fashion career. Having sold his 50 percent stake of the eponymous Jimmy Choo brand in 2001, he is now at the helm of Jimmy Choo Couture, a venture that has allowed him to return to his roots as a master of his craft. “I think couture is very important,” he says, at the global launch of the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Fashion Week 2015, of which he is Honorary Advisor, in Paris.

The call of the East: Malaysia Fashion Week set to showcase the continent’s hottest new designers

The fashion spotlight is set to swing over to Southeast Asia in November with the opening of Malaysia Fashion Week (MFW) 2015. Officially launched this fall in Paris, the second annual edition of MFW will showcase the Spring/Summer 2016 collections of over 60 Malaysian and over 30 international designers, all overseen by the star shoe couturier Jimmy Choo, who has been appointed Honorary Advisor to the show. Organized in partnership with Mercedes Benz and fashion events organizer Stylo International, MFW will also include an exhibition of over 300 booths of Malaysian and international businesses of fashion apparel, accessories, cosmetics and personal care as well as textiles.
