Valentin Yudashkin: ‘The spring/summer 2017 collection pays respect to the 80s’

On the occasion of Paris Fashion Week (September 27 to October 5), Relaxnews caught up with Valentin Yudashkin, whose spring/summer 2017 collection previews October 4 at 4:30pm. The new collection is centered on a constructive and hard fit with emphasized lines: large male fit jackets with an extended shoulder base, 'grotesque' blazers embroidered with decorative plates, beads and spangles, wide straight fit overcoat-parkas made from delicate tulle and pencil skirts which stress the austerity of the lines. Valentin Yudashkin proposes to combine large jackets with light dresses made from tulle and silk in order to create exquisite and feminine ensembles.

Guillaume Henry for Nina Ricci: "This season, I wanted a silhouette that borrows from the codes of sport"

Relaxnews caught up with Guillaume Henry, creative director of Nina Ricci, after the label's Paris Fashion Week show. What interests me the most about fashion is the narrative, emotional aspect, and this season, I wanted a silhouette that borrows from the codes of sport. This collection sees the classic “[Avenue] Montaigne vocabulary” — which I love — combined with sporty touches.

Jacquemus makes its mark at Paris Fashion Week

It may have only been showing on the official schedule for a few years, but Jacquemus is fast becoming one of the most intriguing brands to show at Paris Fashion Week. The label, founded by Simon Porte Jacquemus and known for its poetic, abstract approach to ready-to-wear, took the spirit of the south of France as the departure point for its Spring/Summer 2017 catwalk show on Tuesday. Titled 'Les Santons de Provence', the show was a romantic and nostalgic ode to a simpler life, but also offered a modern and free-spirited take on tradition.
