Chanel to show Metiers d’Art collection in the Ritz, Paris

Chanel is staying home this year for its Metiers d'Art catwalk show, which will take place in the Ritz Paris. Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld chose the Ritz for its links to the house's famous founder, Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel, who lived at the hotel for over 30 years, decorating the luxury apartment herself. Located in the French capital's prestigious Place Vendome, the Ritz re-opened its doors this summer after a four-year-long renovation period that saw the addition of a new 'terrasse' and the reduction of rooms from 159 to 142 for a more spacious guest experience.

Speedo, Ralph Lauren drop Lochte after Rio scandal

Embattled star Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte lost two major endorsement deals on Monday following his false claim that he had been robbed at gunpoint in Rio, with Speedo and Ralph Lauren pulling the plug. Lochte claimed he and three of his teammates — all of them gold medal winners in Rio — were mugged by robbers pretending to be police after a night out, but the story was quickly discredited by other witness testimony and surveillance video.

Speedo, Ralph Lauren drop Ryan Lochte after Rio incident

Swimwear maker Speedo and luxury retailer Ralph Lauren Corp ended their sponsorship contracts with Ryan Lochte, days after the U.S. swimmer admitted to exaggerating his story about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio during the Olympics. The incident embarrassed the host city, angered the local police and government and dominated news coverage of South America's first Olympics, leading the U.S. Olympic Committee to issue an apology. “I over-exaggerated what was happening to me.” Within hours of the Games coming to a close, Speedo USA issued a statement saying it would drop Lochte as one of its endorsers, while Ralph Lauren said it would not be renewing its contract with the swimmer.
