The Fashion Awards names the big winners of 2016 in London

Alessandro Michele, Gigi Hadid and Alexander McQueen were just some of the names to claim top prizes at the Fashion Awards 2016 on Monday evening. Stars and key players gathered at London's Albert Hall to toast the winners of the prestigious awards ceremony, hosted by the British Fashion Council, with a focus on both emerging talent and industry legends. Alessandro Michele, credited with breathing new life into Gucci since his tenure at the brand, was awarded the title of 'International Accessories Designer', while the enigmatic Paris-based collective Vetements, which has been shaking up the fashion scene since its edgy debut in 2014, was named 'International Urban Luxury Brand.' One of its founding designers Demna Gvasalia also won the 'International Ready-to-Wear Designer' category for his work at Balenciaga.

Holidays 2016: three coffee-table books for fashion fans

As well as paying homage to the career of this international fashion icon, the book recaps her most emblematic fashion shoots, as well as exploring her sources of inspiration and artistic collaborations.

Jean-Paul Goude restyles Lacoste crocodile for ‘Holiday Collector’ collection

Lacoste creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista gave Jean-Paul Goude free rein to rework the iconic crocodile logo that has adorned the brand's polo shirts and ready-to-wear pieces for several decades. The new logo, capturing a kind of crocodile courting dance, will be used on garments in the brand's “Holiday Collector” line, due out from November. Best remembered for his work in the 1980s and 1990s with Grace Jones, and his adverts for Chanel and French department store Galeries Lafayette, Jean-Paul Goude has brought a personal twist to the iconic Lacoste crocodile.

Raf Simons sent shockwaves rippling through the fashion industry when he announced his resignation as Creative Director of Dior last October. The Belgian designer left Dior last fall after three years of overseeing the womenswear creations for the prestigious French fashion house, citing the need to redress his work-life balance. Calvin Klein, meanwhile, has been undergoing a tumultuous period of its own.

Jeremy Scott to launch fashion career retrospective in Dallas

Jeremy Scott is set to celebrate his 20-year anniversary as a fashion designer with an exhibition at the Dallas Contemporary museum. The show will open in 2017 and will serve as a retrospective of his designs over the course of his career, spanning his position at the head of Moschino as well as his own eponymous label, WWD reports. “It's going to be my 20th anniversary next year, so to have the Contemporary do an exhibition of my work is a very exciting and thrilling moment,” he told the publication, adding that although he has been given the option of using the museum's surface area of 26,000 square feet, he is still thinking about how exactly to utilize the space.

This first French exhibition dedicated to the work of Anne Valérie Hash will look back over her first 13 years of designs. As a famous name of the fashion world, the French designer is particularly known for deconstructing menswear pieces to transform them into womenswear creations, and, more generally, for bringing harmony to contrasts and contradictions, whether in terms of colors, styles, fabrics or eras.

French leather goods brand Longchamp has once again chosen British model and it-girl Alexa Chung as the face of its spring 2016 campaign, shot by the eminent German photographer Peter Lindbergh. Longchamp's spring 2016 campaign brings together two fashion icons — one from the world of modelling and the other from photography — working together for the first time on a shoot in the iconic setting of Paris, home of the French luxury brand. Photographer Peter Lindbergh is best known for his work with the various editions of Vogue magazine.
