Topshop and Topman to expand to China

British brands Topshop and Topman are set to expand into mainland China reports WWD. Owner Sir Phillip Green has confirmed he has signed a deal with existing Topshop partner Shangpin.com to open up to 80 standalone stores across the country. Topshop currently has minimal presence in China, with just a shop-in-shop in Beijing's Galeries Lafayette and two stores in Hong Kong already launched in partnership with Shangpin, a members-only online fashion retailer which offers registered users access to Western brands.

Paris Fashion Week: menswear show schedule

After London and Milan, the fashion world will be heading to Paris to check out fall/winter 2017-2018 menswear collections from major labels like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Balmain. Shows will be held at prestigious locations in the French capital from January 18 to 22, 2017.

After London, it will be Milan's turn to showcase men's ready-to-wear collections for the fall/winter 2017-2018 season, with major changes on the agenda. UK fines modelling agencies 1.5 million pounds for price-fixing

Britain has fined five modelling agencies and their trade association a total of 1.5 million pounds for colluding and in some cases fixing prices for jobs such as fashion magazine shoots and advertising campaigns. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regulator said the agencies: FM Models, Models 1, Premier, Storm and Viva often talked with trade body the Association of Model Agents (AMA) about price negotiations with their clients “The parties regularly and systematically exchanged information and discussed prices in the context of negotiations with particular customers,” the CMA said in a statement on Friday.
