Giorgio Armani has launched the 11th season of his initiative to support young fashion talent of creation, and this year's protegé is Lucio Vanotti. Born in Bergamo and a graduate of the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Lucio Vanotti has made a name for himself thanks to his rational and minimalist style. The up-and-coming designer will have the chance to showcase his new collection at the Italian fashion legend's Armani Teatro space during the next men's fashion week in Milan this January.

Krizia designer Mandelli dies at 90

Mariuccia Mandelli, a pioneering female fashion designer who created the Italian brand Krizia and was credited with inventing hotpants, has died at the age of 90, associates announced Monday. Prime Minister Matteo Renzi led tributes to a woman he described as one of the architects of Italy's huge ready-to-wear fashion business. “She was a leading figure in the fashion world and in “Made-in-Italy” Renzi said.

The Italian luxury fashion house has teamed up with Nintendo for a collection inspired by the Super Mario Bros. series. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Mario character, Moschino and Nintendo will launch a “Super Moschino” collection on December 5, it was announced. The collection consists of t-shirts, sweaters, bags, belts and accessories featuring graphics of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, coins, stars and mushrooms.

The Italian luxury goods firm Bottega Veneta has collaborated with the Swiss-American top photographer Raymond Meier for its 2015-2016 cruise campaign. Following on from Saskia de Brauw and Sung Jin Park photographed by Nobuyoshi Araki for Spring-Summer 2015, and Anna Cleveland and Freddy Drabble this season, now it's Joséphine Le Tutour and Ben Allen's turn to model for Bottega Veneta's latest collection.
