2 museums dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent set to open in 2017

Two museums entirely devoted to French designer Yves Saint Laurent's life and work will open in 2017. The Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent, which works to preserve the legacy of the designer, contains a collection of 5,000 haute couture garments and 15,000 accessories. It also has thousands of sketches, photographs and various objects that Yves Saint Laurent archived since the creation of his fashion house in 1961, which will be featured at the museums.

Lagerferld launches ‘Karl Robot’ capsule collection

Karl Lagerfeld has unveiled his Spring 2016 “Karl Robot” capsule collection. The ready-to-wear clothes and accessories feature an array of playful, futuristic motifs, ranging from galaxies and spaceships to the designer and his famous cat, Choupette, caricatured as a robots. Pieces include a Vachetta leather pochette bag with a robotized Karl integrated into the pin lock, neoprene sweatshirts featuring a high density print of robot Choupette and a robotized Karl in outer space.

From the organic to the dramatic: Yiqing Yin, Stephane Rolland and Julien Fournié at Haute Couture Week

Yiqing Yin focused on new beginnings on Tuesday, as the designer showed off her debut eponymous collection as part of the Spring 2016 Haute Couture calendar. Meanwhile Stephane Rolland's collection was a dramatic reflection on couture, featuring ruffled tulle hemlines on poetic monochrome dresses and balletic chiffons folded and tucked to create lyrical silhouettes.
