Sumptuous gowns close Paris haute couture fashion week

Chinese designer Guo Pei made her Paris haute couture debut late on Wednesday with an array of sumptuous dresses for a collection she said was called “the emperor's courtyard”. Guo was catapulted into the international spotlight in May when singer Rihanna wore her 25-kg (55 lb) fur-trimmed, flower embroidered cape dress to the ball at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the biggest nights in the fashion year. With her catwalk reminiscent of a Chinese royal courtyard, the brand designer turned haute couture stylist presented richly embroidered and jewel-encrusted dresses, skirts and cloaks in gold, pastel blue and pink, yellow and white.

Fashion designer Zuhair Murad put on a romantic show in Paris on Wednesday as he debuted his Spring 2016 Haute Couture collection. The Lebanese creative put the focus on female sensuality with a collection of structured dresses that protruded bell-like at the hips, sculpting exaggeratedly womanly curves.

Calvin Klein to launch ad campaign for new ck2 perfume

Calvin Klein will launch a worldwide ad campaign for its new perfume “ck2,” first for the Travel Retail market in December and then to the international market in February 2016. Puerto Rican photographer Ryan McGinley shot the campaign, which features new talents like Victoria Brito, Dakota Garrett, Luka Sabbat, Erin Eliopulos, Kyle Mobus, Sung Jin Park, and twins Baylee Soles and Kelsey Soles. Calvin Klein has called on consumers to celebrate being in love with the hashtag #the2ofus, where they can vie for the chance to feature in an upcoming Calvin Klein ad by posting relevant photos.

21-year-old Frenchman wins Elite Model Look contest

The 32nd International Final of the Elite Model Look contest has been won by Tristan, a 21 year-old Frenchman, and Anouk, who is 15 and from the Netherlands. Both of these aspiring models have won a three-year contract with the Elite group agencies. This international final was held in Milan, Italy, before an invited audience and a jury that included Victoria da Silva, president of Elite Model Look International, Vick Mihaci, president of Elite Management Worldwide, and Marilena Borgna, casting director at Vogue Italia.
