Colorful florals and showing your bra: the key trends from New York Fashion Week

'Fashion month', as September is known, got off to a joyful start last week in New York, where the Spring/Summer 2017 looks were a riot of color and pattern. There were bold, bright florals all over the catwalks, forming the basis of many a light-hearted collection, from the flirty and demure collection at Michael Kors to Tory Burch's California-themed hippie-loving boho show, where blossom patterns decorated maxi dresses and kaftans. Leather re-emerges for Fall-Winter 2015-2016

If you can only keep one thing in mind from the Fall-Winter 2015-2016 runway trends, it should be leather, the must-have material for the season. Leather has always been associated with rock music, particularly in the form of the iconic leather jacket, and it has never really left women's wardrobes in ready-to-wear and accessories. This comeback is also due to the strong 1970s trend which could still be seen on the catwalks in the Fall-Winter 2015-2016 collections.
