Vivienne Westwood set to merge menswear and womenswear lines in London

Vivienne Westwood has announced plans to fuse her womenswear and menswear lines under a single label. The grande dame of British fashion has announced she will present her Autumn/Winter 2017/18 collection in one show in January 2017, as part of London Fashion Week Men's. The move effectively puts an end to the practice of showing her womenswear line, formally known as the 'Red Label', and her menswear line, formally known as the 'MAN Label', separately, in London and Milan respectively. The two lines will now sit together under the name 'Vivienne Westwood'.

Back in March, Marc Jacobs uploaded a photo of himself to Instagram enjoying a cigarette break while simultaneously showing off a set of dark purple nails. Social media users everywhere have since been embracing the #malepolish trend with renewed enthusiasm, with Instagram displaying over 1,200 images tagged with the caption. Although stars such as Marilyn Manson, Jared Leto and Jacobs himself are known for championing the gothic look with somber shades, the Internet shows a glitzier side to the trend.

Westwood declares husband "world’s greatest fashion designer"

The Austrian-born designer — who says he suspects he is the basis for comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's 2009 fashion satire “Bruno” — lived up to his larger-than-life reputation with a spectacular explosion of convention-defying decadence. As guests cheered his chutzpah, Westwood confessed to reporters that Kronthaler — who is 25 years her junior — had long been the power behind the throne. Kronthaler, who has worked closely with Westwood for years both as a model, stylist and muse, sent a dizzying array of disparate looks down the runway in the show billed as “Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood”.
