Lands' End catalogs started showing up with skinny models adorning the cover, wearing clothes that looked decidedly un-frumpy and un-boxy — in other words, very un-Lands' End. Marchionni came to Lands' End in February 2015 from Dolce&Gabbana USA, where she was president. Lands' End began in 1963 in Chicago when Gary Comer, an avid sailor, opened Lands' End Yacht Stores, Inc. The following year the company published its first catalog.

Chicago’s Driehaus marks final season of ‘Downton Abbey’ with special exhibition

The Driehaus Museum in Chicago is marking the sixth and final season of the television series “Downton Abbey” with a special exhibition entitled, “Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times”. The exhibition highlights changes in fashion over the course of four seasons of the series set in England in the early 20th century and based around the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants. The garments will be presented in an immersive context in the luxurious interiors of the Driehaus Museum, which was once the home of the affluent Nickerson and Fisher families of Chicago.

Gwyneth Paltrow to open Goop pop-up store in New York

After conducting practice runs in Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago, Gwyneth Paltrow will be opening her first pop-up boutique for Goop in New York starting next week. On Monday, November 23, Paltrow will open a brick and mortar shop for her online lifestyle concept at the Time Warner Center in New York, which will showcase a capsule collection in collaboration with Valentino, reports women's trade publication WWD. The Valentino x Goop “Wonder Woman Valentino” collection is overseen by the fashion label's creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli.
