Burberry dazzles, Kane surprises at London Fashion Week

British fashion giant Burberry Prorsum put the sparkle into London Fashion Week Monday, before Scottish designer Christopher Kane took his star-studded audience on a journey into the bizarre. Burberry chief executive Christopher Bailey said the collection, which will be drip fed into stores from June, was inspired by a “patchwork” of influences. “The collection is all the things that I love, a patchwork of all different things from the Mitford sisters to the military and a little bit of glam-rock,” Bailey told reporters back stage after the show, referring to six sisters who fascinated and scandalised British society of the 1930s.

By Julie Gordon VANCOUVER (Reuters) – Kit and Ace, the retail start-up launched by Lululemon Athletica Inc founder Chip Wilson’s family, has laid off roughly 10 percent of staff at its Vancouver headquarters, as the closely-held company slows its rapid pace of expansion. “Like other tech start-ups, we are in a constant pursuit of learning, improving and adjusting our strategy,” chief executive Paul Wilson said in an emailed statement on Sunday. Launched by Chip Wilson’s wife and son in 2014, Kit and Ace went from a single shop in Vancouver to 61 locations across the globe in less than two years.

The Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer's “Claridge's Christmas Tree 2015” has been unveiled in the hotel lobby, and the result is in striking contrast to the art deco design of the venue. “It is so wonderful to see the tree in such an incredible setting as part of Claridge's seasonal celebrations, I hope that it helps to bring guests a sense of festive fun,” said Bailey.
