By Hortense de Roffignac PARIS (Reuters) – With smart outfits and sweeping evening gowns, designers showcase their luxury creations at the Paris haute couture fashion shows this week. From France's Chanel to Italy's Versace, more than 20 fashion houses will show their spring-summer 2016 haute couture collections, their target some of the world's wealthiest women. On Monday, Dior presented its first haute couture show since designer Raf Simons left in October, with a collection put together by the brand's inhouse team and described as being for the rushing modern woman.

Christian Dior puts on a dreamy display for first couture collection without Raf Simons

When Raf Simons announced in October that he would be leaving Christian Dior after more than three years as creative director, it was left to the luxury French house's creative team to pick up the pieces and stitch them into a Spring 2016 Haute Couture collection that would live up to its famous name. Presented Monday in Paris, that collection struck the perfect balance between the elegant and the risqué, featuring the house's signature lightness of touch and sensual approach to women's fashion.
