Michael Cinco to present A/W ’16 Couture Collection at Paris Haute Couture Week

Renowned Philippine and Dubai-based couturier, Michael Cinco, has announced that he will present at Paris Haute Couture Week later this year. Cinco will present his Autumn / Winter 2016 Couture Collection in partnership with the Asian Couture Federation and as part of a special collaboration with COUTURíSSIMO, the latest initiative from the Asian Couture Federation which aims to provide consumers with access to affordable couture-inspired pieces designed by leading couturiers. Michael Cinco will design a special collection for COUTURíSSIMO which will be presented on the runway immediately following his Autumn / Winter 2016 Couture Collection on July 3, 2016.

There wasn't much in the way of risk-taking during this year's Cannes fortnight, let alone originality or OTT flamboyancy, as stars stuck to classic glamour with chic and sophisticated styles. The 69th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (May 11-22, 2016) did, however, see one surprise guest, as color came to a line-up of full ball gowns, floaty frocks and shift dresses. There was no major red carpet gaffe to get onlookers chattering at this year's event, whether in terms of fashion disasters, wardrobe malfunctions or crazy hairstyles (well, almost), and no one outfit was singled out as a focal point for fashionistas.

Designs revealed for new Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakesh, Morocco

Architectural designs by French firm Studio KO have been released for the upcoming museum dedicated to designer Yves Saint Laurent and his work, the “mYSLm” (Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech). Yves Saint Laurent had a long and public love affair with Morocco, buying the Jardin Majorelle gardens in 1980 with his life and business partner Pierre Bergé, after falling in love with the city of Marrakesh in 1966. From Autumn 2017, a new museum will accompany the garden on the Rue Yves Saint Laurent outside the medina walls of Marrakesh.

Peter Lindbergh to shoot 2017 Pirelli calendar

German photographer Peter Lindbergh has been selected to shoot the 2017 Pirelli calendar, it has been revealed. The creative first snapped the famous annual publication in 1996, before repeating the experience in 2002. The 2016 calendar hit the headlines last year by departing from the calendar's traditional formula of featuring supermodels shot in the nude.
