Calais museum explores the work of fashion designer Anne Valérie Hash

The Museum of Lace and Fashion (La Cité de la dentelle et de la mode) in Calais, France, has invited the French designer — and her fashion house — to exhibit emblematic garments and showcase the creative process. This first French exhibition dedicated to the work of Anne Valérie Hash will look back over her first 13 years of designs. As a famous name of the fashion world, the French designer is particularly known for deconstructing menswear pieces to transform them into womenswear creations, and, more generally, for bringing harmony to contrasts and contradictions, whether in terms of colors, styles, fabrics or eras.

1980s glam makes a Paris comeback as Chanel stays classy

It was back to the future on the Paris catwalks Tuesday as Chanel cleverly tweaked its back catalogue only for Saint Laurent to revive a look that some thought best forgotten. In what could be his last show for the label, designer Hedi Slimane — the man credited with the skinny black jeans look and making grunge glam — was judged to have given the brand “the finger” by parodying its founder Yves Saint Laurent's least glorious period. The hugely-influential Women's Wear Daily was scathing about his collection which went hell for shiny snakeskin leather for late 1980s vamp, claiming that it was drawing on a time when “Yves Saint Laurent was well past his creative prime”.

Agnes b, the French style mogul who hates fashion

“I don't like fashion,” said the French designer Agnes b. The hottest beauty looks from Paris Fashion Week so far

Paris Fashion Week is nowhere near finished, but its catwalks have already revealed some strong beauty looks for Autumn / Winter 2016. Perhaps the look that generated the most headlines came courtesy of Balmain, where Creative Director Olivier Rousteing took his army of It models and mixed things up by dressing them in color swap wigs. The world was therefore treated to a blonde Kendall Jenner and Alessandro Ambrosio, a brunette Gigi Hadid, Lily Donaldson and Rosie Huntington-Whitely.
