The sale will include a collection of haute couture jewelry — pieces created at the request of designers to accessorize their collections — and items from the catwalk collections of Elisabeth de Senneville, an influential fashion designer of the 1980s. Armani seeks to entice fashionistas in ‘key market’ Russia

Renowned Italian designer Giorgio Armani sought to entice Moscow fashionistas with his latest creations on a visit to Russia amid weaker demand globally for luxury goods. In his first visit to Moscow since 2009, the 81-year old fashion veteran presented and signed copies of his autobiography as well as hosted a catwalk show of his men's and women's autumn/winter 2016/2017 collections. The top 5 beauty trends from the autum/winter 2016 Fashion Week shows (PHOTO question)

As urban grunge makes its comeback (at least on the catwalk), so it is only natural that eye makeup becomes bigger, darker and smudgier. In Paris, the look was demonstrated by the thick-winged eyeliner at Saint Laurent that flicked up to the temple and the eyeshadow that filled the models' sockets at Sacai. The “heavy liner” look was more minimalist but still striking at Topshop Unique in London, whereas the Tadashi Shoji show in New York featured a softer, smudgier take on the trend.

By Astrid Wendlandt PARIS (Reuters) – Veteran Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld, sent his models down the catwalk on Tuesday ready for a world that is “not that sweet” in black leather combat-style boots with hard and flattened bowler-shaped hats. “Women need to be ready to defend themselves … in a world that is not that sweet,” Lagerfeld, 82, told Reuters after the show. This time round, Lagerfeld, who has been Chanel's artistic director since 1983, made sure that everyone had a front row seat.

Catwalk calendar row overshadows Paris ready-to-wear shows

The fashion circus hits Paris Tuesday as the women's autumn-winter ready-to-wear shows come to town, with the industry deeply divided over the catwalk calendar and three major houses still without designers. Many are curious to see how the 34-year-old one-time refugee, who made his name with gritty oversized streetwear, will shake up the venerable label, once a favourite with Jackie Kennedy and European royalty. Three of France's major labels are still without artistic directors after a string of shock departures at the end of 2015 that saw Raf Simons leave Dior for “personal reasons” and Alber Elbaz pushed out at Lanvin.
