Donatella Versace to release a book on the luxury fashion house

Fashion designer Donatella Versace is to release a book detailing the history of her career and the Versace brand reports WWD. The 336-page tome will tell Donatella's story of the brand, starting from 1997 when she took over the artistic direction of Versace after the tragic murder of her brother and the brand's founder Gianni. The book has been written in collaboration with fashion curator and professor at the IUAV University of Venice, Maria Luisa Frisa, and W Magazine's director Stefano Tonchi.

British director Andrew Haigh to produce Alexander McQueen biopic

Production for a picture about legendary fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been scheduled to begin by the end of the yea. Entertainment news site Deadline revealed that the film will depict both the rise and fall of the talented fashion icon, from his beginnings in London's Savile Row to leading his own fashion label and his tragic death by suicide in 2010. Director Andrew Haigh has added some extra anticipation to the film's future release with his most recent film “45 Years” starring Charlotte Rampling and Tom Coutenay recieving both Academy Award and BAFTA film nominations, reports Deadline.
