BERLIN – Students of Taiwan’s Shih Chien university showcased their creative work at Berlin Fashion Week, presenting a range of colorful clothing. The various designs were combined under the name “Praxes” for the Friday fashion show and models strutted down the catwalk in printed silk jackets, studded corsets, ponchos as well as head pieces that looked like face guards.

Yves Saint Laurent has a fresh new makeup collection out for spring 2016 called “Boho Stone.” Based on bold, audacious shades, the collection uses subtle shimmers and pearly finishes to bring a chic bohemian vibe to 2016. This new collection is out now in the US and the UK, and will launch in the rest of Europe in February. With “Boho Stone,” Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director of Makeup for Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, lets free spirits experiment with their own color combinations, playing around with different applications and varying the intensity of colors.

A gift from former U.S. President Ronald Reagan fetched top price in a sale of ex British prime minister Margaret Thatcher's personal possessions which raised more than 3 million pounds ($4.5 million) overall, auctioneer Christie's said. Reagan's gift to Thatcher of an American bald eagle figure fetched the highest sum, 266,500 pounds, and was sold to an online buyer. Known as the “Iron Lady”, Thatcher was Britain's longest-serving prime minister of the 20th century.

Handbags, clothes and jewelry owned by the late British prime minister Margaret Thatcher are to go on sale on Tuesday, with some items expected to fetch up to 180,000 pounds ($273,000). Up to 350 “historic and personal lots” related to Thatcher are on offer, and include Britain's only woman prime minister's wedding dress, her red prime ministerial dispatch bag and a figure of an eagle given to her by former U.S. president Ronald Reagan. Known as the “Iron Lady”, Thatcher was Britain's longest-serving prime minister of the 20th century.

Carbon38 releases first fashion collection
Fashion from another galaxy was the talk of the industry in London last week with the star-studded event “Star Wars: Fashion Finds the Force” event. Ten British designers came together to create garments inspired by George Lucas's famous space fantasy franchise ahead of the release of the movie “Star Wars: the Force Awakens” this month. Christopher Raeburn, Claire Barrow and J.W. Anderson are just some of the designers who contributed to the collection, which is being auctioned off on with proceeds going to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
