PARIS (Reuters) – Rainbows, flowers and birds dominated Manish Arora's colorful collection at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday, with the Indian designer offering plenty of vibrant prints and intricate embroidery for women next spring. Models strutted down the catwalk in an array of tops, skirts, trousers and dresses adorned with patterns of fruit, flowers, flamingos, parrots, seahorses and fish. Jean-Paul Goude restyles Lacoste crocodile for ‘Holiday Collector’ collection

Lacoste creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista gave Jean-Paul Goude free rein to rework the iconic crocodile logo that has adorned the brand's polo shirts and ready-to-wear pieces for several decades. The new logo, capturing a kind of crocodile courting dance, will be used on garments in the brand's “Holiday Collector” line, due out from November. Best remembered for his work in the 1980s and 1990s with Grace Jones, and his adverts for Chanel and French department store Galeries Lafayette, Jean-Paul Goude has brought a personal twist to the iconic Lacoste crocodile.

The singer turned fashion designer said she took the conundrum as the starting point for her debut Paris collection for her Fenty x Puma brand, which showed late Wednesday. Rihanna's answer was lots of slinky lingerie, slip dresses, bodices and pearls. Which seemed all the more appropriate given Marie Antoinette was guillotined during the French Revolution for allegedly urging her starving people to eat cake.
