Model rocks up on a horse to fashion week like it’s NBD

One model at Prophetik's London Fashion Week show went for a full-blown jaw-dropping entrance, as she arrived on horseback at Freemason's Hall.  Hessle, the “black beauty horse”, was ridden by Feya, “the designer's Raven Queen” at the show on Sept. 17, according to an Instagram post by the fashion house.  The golden hour at the Prophetik “Nevermore” catwalk show at London fashion week. Weird and wonderful moments of fashion week

NEW YORK (AP) — “If you build it, they will come.” That seemed to be one of the mantras of New York Fashion Week. Tommy Hilfiger built a carnival on a Manhattan pier, including actual rides, a Ferris Wheel, arcade games, a tattoo parlor, and cotton candy for everyone. And Ralph Lauren built a greenhouse-like glass structure on Madison Avenue, commandeering the block and stopping traffic in the most literal way.

Marc Jacobs sparkles as NY Fashion Week wraps up

Marc Jacobs, the creme de la creme of American designers, brought New York Fashion Week to a glittering finale Thursday, delivering a must-see show starring multi-colored dreadlocks and towering platform boots. In keeping with the artistic, theatrical look of his clothes, Jacobs took over the Hammerstein Ballroom, a former opera house, that gave A-list guests Whoopi Goldberg and Courtney Love, as well as the assembled press, a stunning view. The stage was bathed in white, then soft pink from hundreds of naked light bulbs suspended from the ceiling, as some of the world's most famous models — including Karlie Kloss, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner — sashayed past.

New York Fashion Week breaks out designs for all seasons

By Patricia Reaney NEW YORK (Reuters) – More designers at New York Fashion Week broke out of the industry's long-established mode of showing clothes meant to be worn in six months' time by sprinkling wear-now fall looks among catwalk presentations largely focused on next spring. “Instant gratification, that is the mantra of a whole generation of people, and when they see it they want it, and we are going into the fall season so it makes a lot of sense,” said Roseanne Morrison, fashion director at trends forecaster The Doneger Group. Marc Jacobs' spring-focused show at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday was all glitter and glam as dreadlocked models strutted in mini dresses, embellished satin shorts and platform shoes.

Ralph Lauren, inspired by American West, stops traffic during show

Veteran fashion designer Ralph Lauren staged his first runway-to-retail show promoting his September collection, an American West-influenced affair that turned heads and stopped traffic on Madison Avenue during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night. The runway was built between two of Lauren's flagship stores, spanning an entire city block. “This location is sort of my part of the city that says 'Ralph Lauren' on all quarters of the corner,” Lauren said in a video that was made available to the media.
