PARIS (Reuters) – Luxury materials, exquisite craftsmanship and sweeping dresses take center stage at the Paris haute couture fashion shows this week, where designer brands show their autumn collections. Italian luxury label Versace was among the first, kicking off its Atelier Versace show on Sunday evening with belted cashmere coats worn over satin dresses. Models strutted down the catwalk in off-the-shoulder or asymmetric draped gowns, some worn with slim trousers. Other dresses had cut-out features as well as plenty of pleats for the evening. …

Prince ‘Purple Rain’ outfit sold at auction for US$192,000

The items were part of a showcase in the recent “Profiles in History” auction that took place from June 29 to July 1, and were reportedly acquired after a a make-up artist who worked on “Purple Rain” gave the items to her sibling, the original seller, noted Rolling Stone. The 1984 Oscar-winning film is one of the star's most iconic works — although, according to the auction house, the outfit was scheduled to headline their Hollywood Auction before Prince's death on April 21 this year.

Marc Jacobs unveils Cara Delevingne and Marilyn Manson as latest Fall campaign stars

Cara Delevingne, Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson are among the smattering of celebrities handpicked by Marc Jacobs for his new Autumn / Winter 2016 campaign. The trio are the latest models to be unveiled by the fashion designer, who has been drip-feeding glimpses of the campaign on social media over the past few weeks. The series of portraits features a cast including rapper Missy Elliott, musician St Vincent and actress Sissy Spacek, all of whom were captured by photographer David Sims.

The hottest beauty looks from Paris Fashion Week so far

Paris Fashion Week is nowhere near finished, but its catwalks have already revealed some strong beauty looks for Autumn / Winter 2016. Perhaps the look that generated the most headlines came courtesy of Balmain, where Creative Director Olivier Rousteing took his army of It models and mixed things up by dressing them in color swap wigs. The world was therefore treated to a blonde Kendall Jenner and Alessandro Ambrosio, a brunette Gigi Hadid, Lily Donaldson and Rosie Huntington-Whitely.

Chloé and Balmain soften up Paris Fashion Week

Chloé was the latest fashion house to champion the independent woman at Paris Fashion Week Thursday, with a collection channeling escapism and adventure. Titled, “Romantic Voyager,” the Autumn / Winter 2016 collection celebrated “a woman's journey along the road less traveled,” combining a wanderer's wardrobe with light and feminine pieces. Knitwear was spiced up with geometric jacquards and multicolor hand-knotted wool, and the whole collection dotted with encrusted lace and floral jacquard details.
