Brazil’s Gisele holds top spot in Forbes model list; Jenner jumps

(Reuters) – Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen remained the highest-paid female model in the world with annual income of $30.5 million, while Kardashian clan member Kendall Jenner more than doubled her earnings, according to Forbes' 2016 list on Tuesday. Jenner, 20-year-old member of reality TV's Kardashian family, tied for third, up from 16th the prior year, and she was the biggest gainer on the 2016 list.

French model, writer and music producer Caroline de Maigret is moving from being a Chanel muse to being the fashion house's latest global ambassador. According to Chanel, whose creative director Karl Lagerfeld is a long-term admirer, de Maigret's effortless style, assertive personality and socially engaged approach to life perfectly embody the brand's values. Caroline de Maigret and Lagerfeld met in the early 1990s and she quickly became a muse but her first catwalk show for Chanel didn't arrive until 1999 when she modeled the Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collection.

Karl Lagerfeld has turned his talented hand to costume design for the latest ballet to hit Opéra Bastille in Paris. The fashion designer has created the costumes for the upcoming production “Brahms-Schönberg Quartet” at the request of choreographer choreographer Benjamin Millepied, WWD reports. Lagerfeld has created the looks for all four acts of the George Balanchine piece, totaling around 100 costumes.

This past week the Scandinavian clothing chain revealed the latest fashion house lined up to design a collection for its customers. Hot on the heels of Balmain, Kenzo — headed by creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon — will be the next label to design a selection of womenswear, menswear and accessories for the store, on sale from November 3. Karl Lagerfeld’s photography career to go on display at Pitti Uomo

Karl Lagerfeld is set to be the center of attention during Pitti Immagine Uomo 90 this year, starring in a new photography exhibition. Titled “Karl Lagerfeld: Visions of Fashion”, the exhibition will explore the prolific fashion designer's lesser-known photographic career, as well as presenting some never-before-shown images. The show will celebrate Lagerfeld's photographic oeuvre, from snapshots and fashion shoots published in the world's most important fashion magazines to others inspired by classical mythology, created using a variety of techniques.

Combat boots and bowlers: Chanel women dress for ‘not that sweet’ world

By Astrid Wendlandt PARIS (Reuters) – Veteran Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld, sent his models down the catwalk on Tuesday ready for a world that is “not that sweet” in black leather combat-style boots with hard and flattened bowler-shaped hats. “Women need to be ready to defend themselves … in a world that is not that sweet,” Lagerfeld, 82, told Reuters after the show. This time round, Lagerfeld, who has been Chanel's artistic director since 1983, made sure that everyone had a front row seat.
