PARIS (AP) — A huge crane in the colors of the French flag hoisted up a giant neon YSL logo above a construction site in the French capital, literally setting expectations high for this year's YSL show at Paris Fashion Week.

Paule Ka brings Japanese influences to Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week opened Tuesday, September 27, with several shows on the agenda. Day one's line-up included a spring/summer 2017 collection from Paule Ka, drawing inspiration from Japanese culture and paying homage to the uncluttered and structured style of the label's founder, Serge Cajfinger. Creative director Alithia Spuri-Zampetti chose the greenhouses of the French capital's Jardin des Plantes as the setting to present her second collection for the Paule Ka brand.

Gucci takes fashionistas to Westminster Abbey for catwalk show

London's Westminster Abbey has hosted royal weddings as well as burials and memorials for numerous famous British subjects. On Thursday, its cloisters were the setting for a rather different gathering — a fashion show. Italian luxury label Gucci took fashionistas to the famed venue, where Britain's Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011, to present its colorful and eclectic 2017 cruise collection.
