Saint Laurent showed its new men's collection in Los Angeles on Wednesday in front of a host of stars amid persistent rumors over the future of its artistic director Hedi Slimane. The French fashion house showcased its autumn-winter collection, and part of its women's range, to a backdrop of raucous punk rock at the Hollywood Palladium, five days ahead of the music industry's prestigious Grammy Awards. Rocker and actress Courtney Love joined Oscar nominees Lady Gaga and Sylvester Stallone, Canadian pop star Justin Bieber and ex-Baywatch star Pamela Anderson in the front row.

Hard Rock Cafe fetes 45 years with London memorabilia exhibit

From Madonna's bustier to Paul McCartney's suit, fashion memorabilia from the world of music goes on display at an exhibition in London on Wednesday celebrating the 45th anniversary of the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe. The display, called “Hard Rock Couture”, features items worn as well as instruments played by singers and musicians across the decades, including Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. The Hard Rock Cafe, which first opened its doors in central London before expanding with restaurants worldwide, has what it calls “the world's greatest collection of music memorabilia” — all of which began with an Eric Clapton guitar.

Chanel, global chief exec part company over strategy

French luxury brand Chanel on Wednesday said its global chief executive officer Maureen Chiquet would leave the company at the end of January due to “differences of opinion” over strategic direction. American Chiquet, 52, has held the post since 2007. The brand is famed for its creative director Karl Lagerfeld, perfumes such as Chanel No 5 and its distinctive quilted handbags.

Trousers go baggy as Paris men’s fashion gets supersized

As stock markets tumble and economists talk of more tightening of belts, fashion has gone supersized, with Paris catwalks overflowing Wednesday with outsized overcoats and baggy trousers. If the first day of the menswear catwalks shows is anything to go by, men will be flapping around in too-long trousers and enormous ankle-length coats when the new autumn-winter designs hit the shops in six months' time. Most of the models in Off-White's show looked as if they had borrowed their big brother's clothes or were auditioning for a remake of the video of British ska band Madness' 1980 hit “Baggy Trousers”.

Paris Men’s Fashion Week: official show schedule

With men's autumn/winter 2016-2017 fashion collections currently being showcased in Milan, following the London Collections: Men, Paris has confirmed its official schedule of menswear shows. The French capital's Men's Fashion Week will open with a show from Lucien Pellat Finet on Wednesday, January 20, and will close with Saint Laurent on Sunday, January 24.
